Update...

Shortly after receiving the Cervidil last night I began having routine contractions and was officially in labor. The contractions lasted throughout the night and my pain was maintained with IV drugs. At six o'clock this morning the nurse came in to remove the Cervidil and check my dilation progress, which measured 2 cm. Shortly thereafter, on one of my frequent trips to the restroom my water broke. At this point I was eligible to receive an epidural which has proved to be the best pain management EVER! As of ten o'clock I had dilated to 4 cm however my contraction intervals had slowed. To stimulate contractions I was given Pitocin. The nurse will be back at noon to recheck my dilation progress.
